Yep definitely a make or break year for Caron. I didn't realize all the names that were still on the board when he was taken either
Kinda makes you wonder what they were thinkin' but then again outside of the top 5 for the most part the draft is really a crap shoot. There's no way of predicting how these guys will turn out. |

Part of the reason why guys like Silfverberg and O'Reilly are succeeding and Bruins prospects appear to struggle is their given role at the start of their NHL careers. Players like Silfverberg and O'Reilly are top 6 type of players and are given that type of role when they come up, mainly due to being drafted by weaker teams who needed that type of player. Guys like Caron, Colborne were also top 6 type of players but given a bottom 6 roll and expected to adjust. You cant put a skilled type of player in a checking type of roll and then scratch your head and wonder why your skilled guys aren't coming along as well as you had planned.
Thats certainly part of it. Another big part can be blamed on the scouting department. They are the ones who make the suggestions on who to draft. If the Bruins don't draft the right kids for their style of gameplay, you can't plug a round peg in a square hole. |

I was done with Caron 2 years ago. This is a waste of time. Spooner, Knight, Koko ect should have a chance at the spot without this turd in the punch bowl. This kid is more puke inducing than Trent Whitfield. |

Give him 20 games on the 3rd line, and if it's not working trade or waive him. |

Koko and Spooner are Centers. Knight and Koko have a combined 25 pro games and a whopping 6 points between them.
Smith, Fraser, Camper, Cunningham, Moore are likely all ahead of Knight and Koko on the depth chart. Spooner would be a shoe-in, but by all accounts he's most comfortable at C and that appears to be where the club wants to keep him. |

Whoa, whoa whoa. Don't let the facts get in the way of this guy's take on the Bruin's organizational depth and the readiness of the prospects |

Point is any of them deserves a shot over Caron. The kid has had plenty of chances and had folded every time. Mental house of cards. |

Why? He's got experience, familiarity with the system, came on strong in Providence in the playoffs, versatile (can PK), has size, responsible defensively. Not saying he should be a lock by any stretch or even that I want him on the team, but he deserves a shot at that spot as much or more than any of the kids you listed. He doesn't earn it, he's traded or plays warm body in the press box.

Exactly. It's time to start telling it like it is where Caron is concerned. |

Kid is invisible when is he is on the ice. Doesn't hurt but doesn't accomplish anything either. Yes he is bottom 6 guy so it's not like he has to light the world on fire but with all the nothing he had done with all the chances he got I would think someone else in the system could offer more.

Kid has outproduced plenty of peers on a PPG basis in his draft class taken before, around, and after he was selected including: Kassian, Holland, Leblanc, Kreider, Schroeder, Ashton, Clifford, Lander and a kid he'll be competing with for that spot, Reilly Smith.
And he did this earning ice time on a much deeper team than a lot of those kids.
Not every 1st rounder is Logan Couture, he's got a lot to work on and hopefully he figures it out. He's certainly running short on time, but he's not done yet and has proven more at the pro level than anyone else vying for that roster spot. |

Why was he ever moved back down to Providence then? Also, I'm pretty sure nobody expects the kid to be Couture. I certainly don't nor he has ever shown he should be mentioned in the same conversation. He gets called up, shows a flash of what he can do, and then fizzles out, or gets hurt every time. We're not going to agree, but I think someone else deserves a shot over him. |

There's this thing called training camp ... Maybe you've heard of it ???
All of the prospects will have a shot at making the big club. Problem is, we don't have any wingers in the system who are, at this point, better than Caron. Curious to see what the new guys from Dallas bring in camp, but there's no way in holy hell Koko or Knight make the team out of camp over Caron, nor should they. Gotta crawl before you can walk. |
